December Happenings

We had lots of fun filling December with fun at home and through our outside activities. A sampling of pictures before we get to Christmas!

Papa got a new Bobcat, and what boys wouldn't want to try it out?!
 Putting up the tree.
They were such sweet helpers. They were so excited for each ornament we took out of the box, and were fairly gentle, too. My favorite part is the cluster of ornaments when we are done.
This was our first year to do the Elf on the Shelf. I put out a cute little breakfast setting the morning our Elf arrived. It was nothing elaborate, but you should have seen their faces! We had a successful first season with our Elf...he was given the name Strudel right away (thought up completely on her own, by Makenah...I was impressed). I enjoyed finding cute and silly things to do with him all month. We didn't really focus much on him being there to watch if the kids were naughty or nice, they didn't really attach to much to that aspect of his presence. They just thought he was a sweet Elf visiting during Christmas who was doing something silly each morning they woke up. :)
Family lunch date at the soda shop.
This was one of the days that presents arrived. Ha!
Does everyone like online shopping as much as we do? It worked especially well this year, since I didn't feel much like putting in the long hours at the stores!
 The Christmas parade!
Makenah danced in her first Nutcracker this year. Every other year her dance school puts on the show. This was picture night.
We changed and went immediately to her Preschool Christmas program.
 Showtime!
 Both grandparents got to come!
Playing outside.
For a boy who has a perfect place for everything in his bed, I was not expecting to see it all on the floor. :)
 Preschool classroom party.
 Decorating sugar cookies.
 Pajama Day!
 Sunday before Christmas.
Best I could get with both of them. :)
 Bryan's birthday!
 Decorating their gingerbread house.
 A full and wonderful month.

It's been too long!

Hello!
It's good to be back!
Without even looking back at my archives, I can say for certain that this was the longest amount of time I have gone without blogging since I started in 2010.

Many things have been going on in our family, so it's definitely not for lack of content to blog about. I've missed documenting our family, so I hope to get back to the computer more regularly, and I also plan on going back to add in highlights from the past two months or so. For the purpose of keeping an order to the memories being saved, I plan to put them back where they belong on the blog. I'll be starting with Halloween, and it's the post prior to this one.

The most notable and exciting reason I have found myself at the computer less is the anticipated June arrival of our 3rd babe!! We found out this wonderful news at the beginning of October, and after a couple of blissful weeks of excitement, I hit a wall. Ha! The first trimester of this 3rd pregnancy was not as kind to me as the previous two, and as I suffered from nausea and fatigue, I always chose resting over blogging. :) While I am still dealing with many common pregnancy ailments, (ha!) I've gotten relief from the nausea, and that alone makes a big difference.

Christmas Day 2014
16 weeks
We are all very excited to add another blessing to our family! I know Makenah and Logan will be wonderful older siblings! Makenah is particularly excited to love on and "mother" a baby in our family. She will be adorable and so helpful. It's now less than 2 weeks until we find out if we'll welcome a baby boy or girl, and I am sooooo excited to know!

Thanks for checking back on the blog! I've got lots of pictures to share!
Happy New Year! 2015 will be wonderful!

Thanksgiving 2014

We had an absolutely wonderful Thanksgiving here in Garden City. We got to spend time with both our families! Bryan's Granna and Grandad hosted at their house for all of Bryan's family, and I hosted here for my family. I did a beyond poor job of taking pictures. I got just a couple of the Billings here at our house(shame on me!), and if Debbie hadn't sent me some from the Stucky/Wiens day, I would be really hurting! Nonetheless, it was a fun and delicious Thanksgiving!
At Granna and Grandad's.
Before we ate at our house.
Bryan's parents scheduled a tour to see the Buffalo. It was fun!
And it was super sunny and 70 degrees!
That evening they fired up the outdoor fire and we made smores!
This is all the evidence of that. Imagine lots of marshmallows, running around and playing with cousins.
