Let's talk about Logan

Can we take a minute to talk about this cute guy.
So much personality.
He's 13 months old...real fast, tough, loud, funny, and curious.
He plays hard, sleeps so good, eats a lot, and likes to follow his sissy around.
Climbing, pulling, chasing, hollering, and laughing.
Huge smiles with four teeth, long lashes, soft skin, and sweet snuggles.
 He's turning babbles into words.
Our current favorite is 'pray'.
He folds his hands and says 'pray.'
I melt.
Followed closely by 'sissy.'
Pointing, clapping, and high-fiving.

What a totally awesome boy.

Seems quiet

Its hard to believe April is winding down. It's been pretty quiet here on the blog. I haven't had my camera out much, but there seems to be plenty going on. The month has been full and good.

I've been a little quieter myself lately, as I have been recovering from having all my wisdom teeth removed. That slowed me down for a bit, and just as I thought I was mostly all back to myself, I got dry sockets, and so I am still trying to heal.

The kids are happy and busy. Work is enjoyable for Bryan. Seems spring is here.
It's all good.

Applesauce chocolate chip cookies.
Not too bad for no butter and oil. Ha.
She brought over her crayons and paper so she could write down the recipe, she said.
 So much loud banging.
 Dress up dolls.
I love that he sits here and goes through all the books.
 Super Princess Butterfly.
 At the library.
Enjoying the sunshine after checking out our books.
She's asking me, "Mama, do you see the statue?"
(Oh the intriguing, and it never gets old.)
Happy Weekend to you.

Loving this.
We went to preschool open house and pre-enrollment night earlier this week. She was so excited to see her school...she cried when it was time to leave. As soon as we mentioned ice cream cones, all was well.
 Oh geez.
Her first drawing of a person. Love it. She made sure he had arms, legs and hair.
My multi-purpose scarves.
 Reading in sissy's room.
 Snacks in the toy box.
Trying to decide which syrup to use at IHOP. Purple won out.
 Still a remote stealer.
Happy. (Also a good "after" shot from the haircut!)

 Building at Mimi and Papas.
 Sunday afternoon pudding dessert.

The dyeing of the eggs

Going back through pictures, I realized that I missed a few from Easter weekend.
Lucky Makenah got to color Easter eggs with Uncle Aaron and Aunt Maria while they were in town.
I took pictures and ooohed and ahhhed, and Grandma and Logan played and watched.
The set-up.
Didn't know if these would actually work, but they weren't too bad. However, by the end, Makenah was so into sticking every egg she could into the dyes...over and over. When she got all into it, she ditched the handy holders and started dipping with her hands.
We love and miss these two.
Happy Friday to you!

Sesame Street Live!!!!

"Can you tell me how to get, how to get to Sesame Street?"
In our case, it was 45 minutes east on Highway 50!

Sesame Street Live came to United Wireless Arena in Dodge City this week Tuesday and Wednesday. Since we're Sesame Street fans around here, we snatched up some tickets and had been looking forward to the Tuesday night show. (Sidenote: My family went to Sesame Street Live often when I was a little girl...yes, I thought it was sweet that we were now taking our kids...)
We waited until the event date got close to tell Makenah we were going, so not to confuse her with when it was finally going to happen. It was so cute when we told her what we were doing. She talked non-stop, literally, for almost an hour about Elmo, puppets, costumes, Sesame Street, etc. She had Bryan and I laughing, and also in amazement of the continuous chatter.
We had a busy day on Tuesday and so when it was time to go we took off for Dodge City ready to see the show. Makenah is not one for large costumed characters near her (Santa, Easter Bunny, Halloween...) but we figured her familiarity with the characters would ease any nerves. We wondered how squirmy Logan would be. We knew he would have a good time, but were kind of planning that we would need to be up and about with him.
We arrived at the show in good time, and thought the new arena was so nice. We found our seats and waited for the show.
We could tell Makenah Grace was excited! She was very quiet though, taking it all in.
She sat on Bryan's lap the whole time. It was nice to snuggle close to Daddy, and it also gave her a little bit of a height boost. We has great floor seats. 9th row!
The show was fantastic!!! The kids loved it, and were into it the whole time. Even Logan was grooving to the music and sat nicely with me the whole time.
At intermission.
Loving the show.
 Oh the large souvenirs.
A little something to take home.
The experience was even better than we thought it would be! I loved watching the kids' big eyes, smiling and watching the show, and listening to the music. Everything went smoothly, and it was such a sweet family night for us. I'm sure we'll be watching for the show to come to Kansas again next year.
