Breakfast and the park

It was a great weekend at the Stucky House! We had an especially fun Saturday morning that involved my personal favorite--breakfast out, and then a trip to the park with Makenah. Bryan took us to Jimmy's Egg, and then we took a walk to our neighborhood park.
Patiently waiting, and wishing that he could be running free.
Running as fast as she can.
After a relaxing afternoon we met friends for supper and ice-cream!
Hello to a new week!

A few more

I've been pretty quiet on the blog the last couple of weeks. It's not for a lack of fun around here. We are enjoying the end of summer, a hopeful end to the heat, and lots of sweet moments with Makenah.
Here are a few pictures that didn't make it on the blog from the last couple of weeks...
A super happy gal after church on Sunday.
She places her stethoscope on correctly all by herself. Neither of us remember showing her how in the first place.  If you ask her to come check you out, she will place the end on your chest and stand really still.
A snack in the laundry basket.
Helping Daddy reorganize the electronics.  We are still loving the helpful, sharing stage we are in for however long it sticks around. Makenah is all about giving things to other people, bringing me things she finds, and sharing her toys or books.
First adventures in coloring. She was mostly interested in taking all the crayons out and looking at the colors. I suppose I need to get myself some craft and coloring supplies now that I have such a big girl.
We're looking forward to the weekend!

I missed a birthday blog post!

Ahh! I am late posting my Happy Birthday tribute to Blake!
For being late, I am making it extra, extra long. Ok, it was going to be long anyway, because we have so many great pictures of Blake! I had a hard time choosing as it was!
Happy 18th Birthday Blake!
What a truly awesome guy you are!!!

Let the show begin...
Blake through the years...(since I have known him...Ha!)
I met Bryan's youngest brother Blake when he was 10 years old. This picture was taken during my first visit to Garden City very early on when Bryan and I were dating. Blake=fun.
I think this picture needs to be bigger! Can you see Blake? Small guy. :)
With Bryan and my soon to be brothers right after he proposed.
Blake with cousin Ashley at our wedding. He was such a handsome groomsman!
 Hanging out in Garden City.
With Casey at our house in Wichita.
All the cousins in the Stucky/Wiens family. I like the line-up of this picture, and as you would guess, Blake caught his brothers in height very soon.
 Opening Christmas presents.
Heading out camping and biking with the guys.
Still one of my favorite pictures of Bryan and all my brothers! There's Blake, right in the middle!
 In a Colorado tree!
We were hiking at this time. He is probably waiting on all of us to catch up. He's such a great athlete!
 The Stucky men.
 Being awesome.
 Mountain biking.
Ahh, Uncle Blake holding Makenah for the first time!! An awesome uncle!!
 A daredevil on a 4 wheeler!
Me and Blake. Love this guy.
On his dirt bike. He rocks that bike.
 Snuggling in Garden City.
A dance off between Blake and Bryan. A good effort by both. They have good moves.
Seriously cool on his bike. You can't even see the ground!
Getting ready for Makenah's first birthday. A fun uncle will sit under the table with you.
 Hanging out at the shop.
 Walking in Colorado.
 So sweet with Makenah.
 The brothers.
Happy Birthday Blake!! We love you so much! You are an awesome brother and uncle!

Stand back

If you don't watch out, during bath-time these days you could get pretty wet! Since water play is really popular right now, the thing to do in the tub is make huge splashes with your hands, or lay down and kick and pretend to swim. We have so much fun in there! I have to admit, I encourage her and get her excited--all you have to say is "splash splash" or "swim swim swim" and she's off!!
The calm before...
I love it! She gets so silly in there!

More water

Just in case you were wondering what else we could do to get some water time in, we decided to get Makenah a little pool for the backyard. Before discovering how much she liked the water, I didn't really think we would need one. But wading in the neighborhood pool and then playing in other people's backyard pools showed me it may be fun to have our own.
I only filled it with a few inches of water, and away she went! She went in and out, in and out. The water was so cold, but it was SO hot outside, that it felt great. She made sure to splash me plenty and keep me cool too.
Of course, you have to drink it.
(This is her saying, "whoa!" Her current favorite exclamation.)
We've got another super hot week ahead, so I bet we'll be back in the water soon!
