Straight from the phone

Here are some shots straight from my phone. I sure do like my iPhone, and I like taking pictures, so I try and utilize it when pulling out the big camera isn't the easiest. There are several blogs I enjoy reading that often post phone pics, and so I thought I would give you a glimpse into what my phone has seen. Most of those posts are things that happened in about a weeks time. I'll be going back further! My plans to get Instagram should make for some neat pictures next time, too.
This could be long, prepare yourself. I'll just go back to March when Logan was born...

 Strider Bike!
Decorating a sign welcoming home Bryan after he was away several days working.
 Chalk on the driveway
Poor baby. This was a difficult day in the middle of a rough week. Not feeling well at all. Just look at those eyes. We popped popcorn and watched a show together.
Checking out the new Cabela's in Wichita.
 Watching Uncle Blake play tennis.
Piano time at Grandma and Grandpa's house.
 Napping in Kiowa.
For the past year, we have gone one weekend a month (sometimes we've gone two) to Kiowa, KS for Bryan to cover their hospital for the weekend. We always go with him, and they provide wonderful accommodations for us at the Bunkhouse Suites. Apartments turned hotel rooms. We have had some good times there!
Driving home from Garden City. I had to take a picture to document this because she NEVER falls asleep in the car. This is the first and only time she has fallen asleep in this carseat. She used to occasionally nap in her baby carrier, but car napping days are long gone. So cute.
 Happiness.
Working on Daddy's Jeep with him. (After bike riding.)
Snuggles with Aunt Jenna on the new quilt she made for him.
Porch swing at G-pa and G-ma's.
 Hand picked for me.
 Men talking, men drinking coffee.
They have logged many miles in the Chariot.
 Swimming in Kiowa.
 Hi baby!
It's serious when you need two paintbrushes.
We made homemade popsicles together. Enjoying them on a warm night.

Pool time

As Bryan's residency comes to a close, we are really enjoying the freedom his final month is offering. One of those perks is having him around at home to do things as a family during the days. Thursday was a great day together.
Mid morning we decided to take in some pool time. It was fun having Bryan there and taking lots of pictures. We went home for lunch and nap time. When Makenah woke up, we hopped in the Jeep with the tops off and went on a Sonic date. We took our drinks and drove around Sedgwick Co. Park and even stopped to feed to ducks and geese. Makenah really likes to see them, and will even stand on the ground and feed them. After supper at home, we headed out for our nightly run. Makenah and Logan are so great in the trailer, and I like that we can all be outside together. Logan usually falls asleep while we're out, and Makenah often chatters the entire way.

So, here are pictures from the pool. Lots of pictures. I love the crisp, bright pool pictures, so I had a hard time choosing favorites. So, enjoy all of them. Ha!

Getting all set with the floaties.
Relaxing in the shade. No sleeping this time though!
My girl.
In and out, in and out. She likes to play near the step so she has easy access to exit.
Father and son.
All dry and ready to go home. A fruit snack wraps up a great time.

Backyard BBQ

On Wednesday night we got together for a BBQ with my friends from college! I love when we all get together, and its especially fun (and busy!) now that there are so many kids involved! Jacey hosted us at her house for a backyard BBQ and she has a beautiful backyard, perfect for the occasion.
Between the 5 of us girls who were there, we had 8 kids and 2 on the way.
Makenah loved sitting at this little table. It, along with the number of kids and activities in the backyard, were too distracting to have anything but juice boxes and chips for supper. Ha!
Makenah really enjoys Danae's boys, Cade and Cole.
Oh, but she had room for an ice cream cone of course!
Three of us each have a 2 year old born all within 2 months of each other. This is Brennan, Jacey's little girl. We told them to stand next too each other for a picture...
I was disappointed I didn't get Bryan the camera sooner to take a picture with all of us. Kira, Steph and Sonia had already left for the evening.
I will sure miss this group of girls when we leave. While we all live in different towns right now, they are all within 40 minutes of each other. I hope we can make trips back to central KS for things like this.
I love these girls...not only do we have college memories together, but we still support each other and now we are building families together.
Thanks for the wonderful evening girls!

Chalk and Painting

Two separate occasions, two ways that Makenah likes art.

On Monday night we had the family over for dinner. The sidewalk chalk was requested, and Logan got to get down and have a lesson from his sis.

And, painting is very popular around here too.

Close-ups

Logan doesn't seem to mind the camera in his face for lots of close-up shots. I love to make him smile, and he usually just grins away for me with the camera.
Makenah asks everyday now to hold Logan. I almost always try to oblige, so that we keep the affection rolling. It's cute to watch her prepare for him to be put on her lap or next to her. She'll hold out her hands right in front of her and kind of cup them together, like she is waiting to hold something very tiny in her hands. Two more things she likes to do now is brush his hair and also rub his head, especially when he is nursing. She'll stand by the arm of the chair and rub and pat.
She also likes to point out his body parts and comment on how small they are. But then, she makes comparisons to Bryan or I...   "Logan has a small forehead...Mama's is big." Uh, thanks.
We've got lots of cute noises being heard now too. And, some small little giggles I think, too.

Another reason it feels like summer

Here's another reason that it sure feels like summer around here.

It's hard to deny that summer-y feeling when you have such a festively dressed 2 year old.
A lovely straw hat, a lei around her neck, and a flowery skirt that she insisted on wearing so she could be a ballerina and do ballet.
Enough with the pictures, mama!
